NMR Characterization of Spider Silk Proteins and the Effect of Processing on Spider Silk Films

EMSL Project ID
3330

Abstract

Both solid-state and liquid NMR will be utilized to characterize spider silk protein in solution and as cast films. The effects of film processing conditions on the morphology and structure of spider silk films will be investigated. These studies will provide the baseline that the genetic fusion products of spider proteins and other proteins, such as green fluorescent protein, can be compared against.
