Optimizing Oil Production in Oleaginous Yeast by Cell-Wide Measurements and Genome-Based Models
EMSL Project ID
48167
Abstract
The team at PNNL is using a combination of flow cytometry, microscopy and lipidomics to establish baseline cell biological and metabolite data on lipid production by the W29 strain of Yarrowia lipolytica. It is important to understand the context of lipid production at both cell biological (for example, compartmentalization of reactions) and metabolite levels as both are important considerations for engineering and modeling of improved strains.
